What Do We Know About The Life Cycles Of Mammals?

Mammals are highly developed animals but they vary enormously. Did you know that whales, bats and hedgehogs are all mammals...and so are we! Mammals all have characteristics in common, despite their obvious differences.

The main characteristics of mammals are:

They give birth to live young

They have fur or hair covering their body

Females produce milk to feed their young

Mammals are warm blooded

They have four limbs and an internal skeleton

The clip below explains a little more about the features of a mammal.

Activity for week 2:  Research a mammal of your choice and make a poster to explain its life-cycle. Please try to add both pictures and an explanation.

Here are a couple of examples:

Take a photo of your poster and make it the next page in your book creator book. Also please write a list of the common characteristics of mammals.

Extension: Research how the life cycles of marsupials differ from other mammals?
